PROTOTYPES was founded in 2021 by Laura Beham and Callum Pigeon. After five years as a member of VETEMENTS' early design team with the Gvasalia brothers, who founded VETEMENTS, he launched the label in 2021. In 23SS, the brand presented its first runway show at Paris Fashion Week. prototypes draws out dormant potential. Rather than producing new clothes, the brand's approach focuses on upcycling and reuse strategies, and offers three lines woven with the concept of Second Life Line, Proto Packs, and Proto Prints. The main line uses deadstock clothing and fabrics to promote a sustainable attitude towards making and wearing fashion. prototypes takes its brand name seriously, highlighting personal expression and creating one-of-a-kind pieces that replace mass-produced standard similarities. No two pieces are the same, and that's the idea.
